My debt is to the craftsmen who make our furniture. They are Thos. Moser – not me, them. – Tom Moser

Craftsperson, 2022

Seth’s journey with Thos. Moser began when his wife sent him a job posting, sparking a deep dive into the company’s history that quickly turned into an obsession. Working with wood every day and creating stunning, long-lasting furniture is something he cherishes. The 1972 Rocker holds a special place in his heart. Its unique design and enjoyable construction process make it his favorite, and he takes great pride in having built the prototype and those displayed in the company’s showrooms.

For Seth, the most satisfying moment in his work comes just after signing a completed piece, when it is passed to a colleague for a second-look inspection. Under the glow of a light and the scrutiny of chalk marks, every detail is examined. When his work is returned unmarked—free of swirls, rough patches, or scratches—he knows he has done an incredible job. That moment, he says, is akin to receiving an A+ on a school test, a tangible affirmation of his craftsmanship and dedication to excellence.

“I enjoy being able to work with wood and the ability to make gorgeous furniture that will outlast me every day.”
