The Island Stool rises from the floor on four tapered legs. With rounded stretchers for resting your feet, this stool provides an upscale, contemporary look that works well in modern and traditional kitchen settings. The steam-bent apron below the seat calls attention to the hand-sculpted details of the seat, revealing the one-of-a-kind circles of the woods growth rings- making no two stools precisely alike.

Time-honored craftsmanship.
The Island Stool was inspired by one found in Tom and Mary Moser’s first Maine home, a 200-year-old farmhouse in New Gloucester. While the original stool used leather strapping for the seat, the Island Stool has a hand-sculpted seat, showcasing the concentric circles of the tree’s growth rings. A gentle reminder of the history and unique qualities of this natural material.Â
Great attention is given to the apex of the seat. From the side, the profile of the seat is reminiscent of gently worn grooves in the limestone steps leading to centuries-old churches found throughout Europe. Its small footprint makes it the perfect complement to narrow walkways and kitchens when space is at a premium.Â
