Design and craftsmanship.
Situated atop four tapered, turned ash legs, the seat exposes wedged through tenons to prove both the strength and beauty of its joinery. The seat is carved from grain matched North American hardwood and shaped to fit the human form. The back combines the beauty of a solid hardwood top rail, secured by a series of tensioned ash spindles that flex – ever so slightly – to ensure comfort.
As the legs drop to the floor, the stool employs a series of five integral spreaders, with those at the side and front positioned for resting feet. The spreaders also ensure the stool’s stability and its heirloom durability. This stool will be part of your family for generations.
The Eastward Stool is notable for its light profile while making no sacrifices to diminish its structural integrity. Available in a variety of heights, the stool tucks easily beneath a counter and situates well with other stools to make the best possible use of available space.

Crafted in the spirit of George Nakashima’s fusion of Japanese and American styles. The Eastward Stool is a natural fit in both contemporary and traditional kitchens, with a sense of Shaker simplicity that earns attention for its subtle beauty while eschewing any unnecessary ornamentation.
